After having traveled the world and having experienced many different people groups I feel like I have finally come home to Kenya. I felt so small in the presence our brothers and sisters there. It was almost as if I needed them more than they needed me. Never before have I encountered a group of people so bright and so capable of lifting themselves from where they are.
In some third world contexts I have been in there hasn’t seemed to be any amount of money or assistance that could satisfy their needs. With our partners in Empower International, however, it is almost as if our dollars and our efforts are multiplied in their hands. The vision of this organization is not only realistic in its expectations but also holistic in its approach to ridding these beautiful people of the monster HIV/AIDS which stalks them every moment.
