I only needed to meet the people of Kenya one time, and I developed an immediate love for them! During my time spent with the Empower International Kenya staff, I observed they are resourceful, creative, bold, self-sacrificing and hard-working. In spite of tremendous obstacles—poverty, disease, and HIV/AIDS, —they outwardly demonstrate love, hope and determination to overcome these obstacles. I marvel that, with very little help but deep faith in God, their efforts are multiplied, and thousands of lives in Kenya are already being changed within a short period of time.
Through the Empower International organization, many of our Kenyan friends are putting their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation and embracing the messages of abstinence before marriage and fidelity in marriage to reverse the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Head teachers in Kenyan schools are additionally seeing a reduction in negative behavior and violence among their students since the Empower International program has been implememted in their schools.
It is an honor and privilege for me to serve this organization and its people. I am highly motivated to serve this organization because of my passion for the people of Kenya and the mission of Empower International.
